The financial impact of Covid19 has been crippling for many musicians, a great number of whom have been without work since March. Amelia Conway-Jones, violinist at the Royal Opera House, founded the Musicians For Musicians campaign in March 2020. To date, the campaign has raised over £26,000 for musicians in need through fundraising and creative projects, including a multi-genre album recorded during lockdown.
Musicians for Musicians will be releasing Dancing Folk as a single on November 6th and proceeds from the sales of the audio will be donated to Help Musicians in the UK. Help Musicians have provided critical support, distributing over £11million to musicians in severe financial hardship during the pandemic.
In addition, musical charities in each of the countries represented in the Dancing Folk project will also benefit from sales of the single.
